Growing up I remember mom used to have a household of people to cook for, sometimes upward of 12 people. She was an amazing cook from her cornbread to her pinto beans and everything else in between, her cooking would be a run for the money for Paula Deen. She and Aunt Dora would also spend many Summer afternoons preparing vegetables and fruits to get ready for canning and preserves. The whole house would smell like cotton candy when it was strawberry time. Mmmm Mmmm good! During the holiday season, mom would go over to Aunt Jane's and Uncle Buddy's and would help prepare the feast. We also would request her homemade chocolate pound cake, her green beans (cooked southern, of course) and her stuffing. My goodness, I think I'm hungry now :)
