Ok, so the story I've heard is two-fold. I knew that mom was introduced to dad from Aunt Jane and Uncle Buddy at his restaurant, but Uncle Fred gave me the rest of the story. Dad worked in construction, and apparently there was a little food stop within walking distance, but that was not the right choice for dad. Dad knew that mom was a waitress down at the restaurant and everyday, he would drive about 7-8 miles to go see his Rose. It seems dad's persistence would pay off. After numerous attempts of asking her to go out with him, she finally said yes...and you get one shot. Apparently, this was all he needed, and he wasn't going to blow it. They went out and the next 56 years was a testament to their love. Daddy got his Rose and what a prize she was.
